Air Guitar Championships Minneapolis: Real Impact, One Epic Night
The Minneapolis Air Guitar Championships are back on May 16, 2026, and Free Guitars 4 Kids (FG4K) is proud to be the beneficiary of this high-energy charity event.
Hosted by US Air Guitar at Route 47 Pub & Grub in Fridley, MN, this is not your average night out—and that’s exactly why we love it. From over-the-top performances to community-driven impact, this event brings together music lovers across Minneapolis for a night of fun with purpose.
Competitors will battle it out in two rounds, judged on technical skill, stage presence, and “airness”—transforming invisible guitars into unforgettable performances.
From Air Guitar to Real Guitars
While the guitars may be invisible, the impact is very real.
Proceeds from the event support FG4K’s mission to put guitars into the hands of kids who may not otherwise have access to music. The night will also feature live guitar giveaways to local kids and a special performance from a former FG4K recipient—on a real guitar.
We’re also excited that FG4K Co-Founder Terry Esau will have the distinct—and rockin’—honor of serving as a judge for the competition.
