Young Musicians Receive New Guitars
When wildfires swept through Altadena and the Pacific Palisades earlier this year, hundreds of families lost far more than homes and belongings. For many young musicians, the fires also took away something deeply personal, the instruments that inspired them to learn, create, and dream.
That's why Free Guitars 4 Kids was honored to partner with Altadena Musicians, an incredible nonprofit working to replace every instrument lost in the fires and help young musicians continue their musical journeys.
Because of the generosity of our supporters, Free Guitars 4 Kids has already provided more than 250 guitars to students and families impacted by the fires, with additional instruments being prepared for future distributions. Each guitar represents more than a replacement for what was lost. They represents hope, healing, and the opportunity for a young person to keep making music during an incredibly difficult time.
Recently, we joined Altadena Musicians for another guitar distribution event, where young musicians were able to receive instruments and return to doing what they love. Seeing the smiles, excitement, and gratitude on their faces was a powerful reminder of why this work matters.
Stories like these remind us that it takes an entire community to put music back into the hands of kids. We're grateful to stand alongside organizations, industry partners, volunteers, and donors who believe that every young musician deserves the chance to keep playing, especially after experiencing such devastating loss.
What many people don't see is that these moments are made possible by a dedicated group of supporters who give month after month. Their ongoing generosity allows us to respond quickly when communities face unexpected challenges, prepare guitars for distribution, and ensure that kids don't have to wait months to receive an instrument.
The work is not finished. More guitars are on the way, and together we will continue supporting young musicians throughout Altadena and surrounding communities as they rebuild and recover.
